“Communication is the Key” is the theme of a 45 minute seminar designed to help older adults prepare for unexpected emergencies. This free seminar, offered by CERN and the Neighbor-to-Neighbor Program of Howard County, includes information on how to implement communication strategies with family, friends and neighbors before emergencies strike. Seminar participants will be shown how to create an emergency kit and to tag home equipment in the event of lost power, water or heat.

Discussion about the importance of establishing a community or neighborhood network of support before emergencies or disaster take place will be included in the seminar.
