Preparedness for the Faith Community

A preparedness summit was held for the faith community on September 29th, 2009. Over 60 representatives of various places of worship attended to learn more about preparing for seasonal flu and swine flu, as well as continuity of operations planning.

Below are the documents referenced in the presentation by CERN Vice Chair Mary Lasky:

Pandemic Flu Planning For the Faith Community

This document outlines the 'Triggers and Actions' during a serious flu season and suggested steps congregations should take. It outlines influenza preparedness measures such as determining critical activities, developing a communications plan, human relations planning for staff, when to implement hygiene and social distancing measures, as well as services to provide for others congregation members at risk.

Continuity of Operations Planning for the Faith Community

Steps such as assessing and Mitigating the Risks, addressing Information technology issues, dealing with an interruption due to facility damage, crafting a communication plan, contributing to community welfare as well as a sample incident planning document are detailed in this document.
