The Columbia Amateur Radio Association and the
Potomac Valley Radio Club will operate for the
ARRL Field Day exercise at the Triadelphia
Ridge Elementary School grounds at the corner
of Triadelphia Road and Folly Quarter
Road. This is just east of MD Route 32 on
Triadelphia Road.
The two clubs will be set up and operating from June 28, Saturday 2:00 pm to June 29, Sunday 5:00 pm. There will be approximately 13 portable military-type towers with beam antennas and several wire dipole antennas strung between the towers. Approximately 20 operating positions will be making contacts all over the U.S. and Canada using the call sign W3AO. Voice, code (CW), and digital modes will be used to make contacts. There will be a GOTA (Get On-The-Air) Station which can be used by non-licensed persons of any age to try out amateur radio under the control of a licensed amateur. Visitors are welcome. Come out and see how "ham radio" can establish emergency stations.
